Suez Environmental:
Waste container and wheelie bin
cleaning has become an important
issue
for many
Councils and
Local Authorities, especially now that many are operating
fortnightly or alternative bin collection schemes.
BCC
Ltd has been supporting the waste management companies
in Surrey for the past seven years and Berkshire
for the past four. Verdent and SITA Suez Environmental
each providing waste collection and recycling services
for Surrey Heath Borough Council and Bracknell Forest
Borough Council respectively.
Included in the list of responsibilities is the cleaning
of the waste containers in use by the councils once
each year. These
are in use at such places as Care & Retirement Homes,
Universities Schools & Colleges, Leisure Centres
as well as Police Stations and Residential Flats. The
waste contracts include a clause that states that the
wheelie bins require cleaning each year.
BCC Ltd has developed this cleaning service in partnership
with the waste management companies and each council
which works to the satisfaction of all parties.

Routine Planning:
At the start of each
year a list of the wheelie bins and
containers to be cleaned is broken down by the collection
day, to establish how many working days it will take
to complete the contract. This will also provide the
number of Monday’s
Tuesday’s etc required. The cleaning
dates are then allocated for that coming
year taking in to consideration the
size and location of each wheelie bin
and waste container.
Client Support:
A detailed report is prepared at each month end providing a breakdown of every
wheelie bin that has been cleaned, the quantity of containers at each location
and if required the condition of the bins can also be reported.
The whole cleaning
process
and reporting is completed by BCC Ltd without the need of constant supervision
from the client. The reports provide dates and locations that enable quality
control
inspections to be carried out at anytime leaving the management teams running
the council depots
free to concentrate on the collection of waste and recycling material.

Health and Safety:
The Bin Cleaning Company Ltd has continued to ensure that a full inspection of
the cleaning process has been assessed for a safe working environment. Each part
of the process
has little if any risk and this is provided in the Company’s method statement.
The Company holds Public Liability and Employee Liability insurance of £5m
and £10m
respectively.
